::::::::::: Feed of Man ::::::::::: Words: Woody Guthrie (Unknown Date) Music: Jeff Tweedy - 1998 Transcribed by: Shane Grimm (grimmshane@hotmail.com) This is my first attempt at tabbing/explaining a song, so bear with me. "Feed of Man" is a pretty raw sounding guitar song with plenty of background slide work, of which most is probably in Open-D tuning, over which you could play a standard D-blues scale for lead. The main riff is fairly simple, and I think it is in standard tuning. The chord names are probably wrong, but pretty easy fingerings nonetheless. Here goes... Chords: Dsus2 - XX0230 F6 - XX3230 G6 - XX5450 Without tabbing it, the riff goes Dsus2, F6, Dsus2, F6 slide up to G6. When Jeff sings, "And I do what I can to Bale string and tie..", the riff changes somewhat... Dsus2 - XX0230 F6 - XX3230 Em7 - XX2030 C9 - X32030 This is played 4 times, then returns to the main riff. Listen for when this riff appears in the song again. The only other change in the song occurs at "I say Ill help you fix and Squeeze yourself up a new kind of God Of Some kind;". The chords are as follows: F - 133211 Am - X02210 C - X32010 Bm? - X20030 Play around with it and let me know if you have come up with any variations. Thanks. -- grimmshane@hotmail.com "Take the guitar player for a ride, 'cuz he ain't never been satisfied" J. Tweedy
